The Cap-Sizun : walkers’ paradise!
With nearly 600km of trails, leisurely walks and major coastal paths signposted and maintained by the local authorities, the Cap-Sizun really is a paradise for walkers!
Firstly, there’s the legendary GR34 coastal path that follows the entire coast of the Cap-Sizun from the Phare du Millier in the north (in Beuzec-Cap-Sizun) right down to Pors-Poulhan cove in Plouhinec, further south.
To the north, this 37km trail enables you to explore every coastal point, always with the magnificent panoramic views of Douarnenez Bay and Crozon Peninsula as your backdrop. On this side, the coastal path has its fair share of ups and downs and can feel positively airborne in some spots, but in practical terms is relatively accessible to most walkers.
To the south, the path is less of a challenge, taking you past various heritage gems including fountains, chapels and ‘fours à goémon’, where long ago, locals burned seaweed to make kelp.
For each of the trails, you can download an outline in GPX format.
