The Pointe du Van is the little sister of the more famous Pointe du Raz
With spectacular views to the horizon, the Pointe du Van is a wild, unspoilt spot.
Just around the corner from the Pointe du Raz! Each coastal point sits like a guardian to the vast Baie des Trépassés.
A little more protected from southwesterly swells than the Pointe du Raz, the Pointe du Van has a softer appearance, less jagged than its big sister, but still fiercely protecting the area between the Baie des Trépassées and Douarnenez Bay thanks to its 70-metre cliffs. Exposed to the elements, this is a land of heather and moors, known for its stunning panoramic views and iconic chapel, Saint They, which has been classed as an Historic Monument.
From here, the view is captivating and impressive: you can take in the Pointe du Raz, La Vieille lighthouse and the Île de Sein on one side, and on the other, the Menez-Hom, Douarnenez Bay, Cap de la Chèvre and the Pointe de Pen Hir on Crozon Peninsula. In the distance, you might even glimpse Pointe Saint-Mathieu, the Molène Archipelago, Ouessant island and the distant radar tower!
